My name is Lucy. I was born a week premature to a sickly mother. Unfortunately my mother was too sick and passed away within a week from my birth, as did my three ill siblings.
From thereon, I was hand-fed several times each day from a couple of humans. Also another mother cat named Bella was kind enough to allow me to nurse on her, giving me comfort.
After a few weeks, I learned to eat and drink on my own, but I also discovered that I have a neurological disorder, which prevents me from fully maintaing balance of my body when I walk.
Fortunately, I have adapted to my disorder, and I am walking slowly, but am learning to balance well with my body. I have met other kittens in my foster home, who have become my new friends. Every day I play with my new friends, and am given plenty of attention by the owners of my foster home.
I may have had a troubled time as an infant kitten, and I know I will always have a slight balance issue due to my disorder, but I live each day with happiness with my friends and foster owners. I have learned how wonderful the gift of life is. I look forward to what excitement my future has for me.
